About the event
On March 27th, 2024, we will be hosting Make an Impact. Period. Let's Talk about Hygiene Health and the fight to end period poverty! This is an event under our Pinky Promise Program in which we strive to find new strategies for dealing with the challenges of period poverty and educate youths about hygiene health. We aim to raise awareness and find solutions to the challenges faced by individuals who lack access to menstrual hygiene products and conversations.
Statistics have shown that 1 in 4 students in The United States cannot afford period products. Menstrual hygiene is a necessity, not a luxury, for all who experience periods. Period education is critical during adolescence to prepare youths for the changes occurring in their bodies.
Join us for an engaging and hands on event as we discuss the pressing issue of "period" poverty, hygiene health, advocate for equitable accessibility to menstrual products and pack hygiene kits for our local community.
Through open conversations and interactive sessions, we will shed light on the significance of this issue, the stigma surrounding it and the impact it has on the lives of many. Together, we can break the silence and foster a supportive community that advocates for menstrual equity.
This event is a free community event open to the public, participating youths will also receive community service hours for the dedication and effort to put an end to period poverty.
Through our Pinky Promise Program, we have been able to donate hygiene items both locally and internationally to women and girls affected by period poverty. We hope you are able to take part in this empowering event and experience firsthand the pride we take in supporting this cause.
